Somewhere different to walk the dog maybe? Tomato Lake is a beautiful
oasis in the middle of suburbia, with a central lake that does not resemble
a tomato in any way!
A 1.6km cycling/walking track surrounds the lake with a nature look out
extending into the water, an area the keen ornithologist would especially
There is also a great stretch of grassed picnic area with heaps of shade from
lovely big trees. President Street end of the park is less used and seems to
cater more for the larger family functions. However, bbq’s, picnic tables
and a couple of gazebos are adequately spaced throughout the park.
The Tomato Lake Alfresco coffee shop is a small kiosk with a few tables
set outside. Opening times are 10 ‘til 5 Wednesday to Sunday. On school
holidays they open 7 days with the exception of Good Friday and Christmas
For the kids there is also a traditional playground, under full shade, with a
space net and climbing structure close-by.
