Just 10 minutes out of Wagga Wagga, you’ll find the Quinty Bakehouse, famous for its organic and sourdough breads, homemade gelato and gourmet pies.

Sample Wagga Wagga’s top drops at one of our wineries or cellar doors. The region’s temperate climate and diverse terrain makes it ideal for producing classic white and red as well as interesting Spanish and Italian varieties. Home to more than 12 boutique wineries, you’ll be impressed by the innovative winemaking techniques, unique vintages and country hospitality on offer.

If you prefer your sight seeing in the great outdoors, make Wagga Wagga’s natural environment your holiday playground. For keen anglers, the Murrumbidgee River is an ideal habitat for the fish species native to the Murray Darling Basin.

Whether fishing from bank or boat, you will have plenty of choice in the region and an excellent chance of landing a fish such as a hard fighting golden perch. Lake Albert is well stocked with native fish, and offers anglers an alternative to the River.

Livingstone National Park and State Conservation Area is located 30 km south of Wagga Wagga and 10km east of Mangoplah. 60 plant species of native flora have been recorded and 126 native fauna species have also been recorded in the park. The reserve is located within Wiradjuri Country and forms part of a wider landscape that is central to Aboriginal spirituality and identify.

Looking for activities to keep the children amused? There’s a stack of fun stuff to do for the young and young at heart.

Try Pitch and Putt at the Wiradjuri Golf Centre on the 18 hole, par-three golf course or give the driving range a shot. Soak up the sounds, sights and smells at one of Australia’s largest livestock centres – the Wagga Wagga Livestock Marketing Centre – its doors are open to the public on sale days Monday and Thursday.

Enjoy the fun and excitement of go-kart racing at Rev Arena (height and age limits apply) or jump on board the miniature train at the Botanic Gardens.

The City’s geographical location makes it an excellent launching pad for day trips to surrounding areas. Whether you like exploring quaint townships or enjoy something a little faster paced, you can find it all within an easy drive of Wagga Wagga.

The neighbouring towns of Coolamon, Junee and Lockhart each have a distinctive character and attractions.

For some mountain magic, why not travel to the towns of Tumut and Tumbarumba?

You can also travel along the road to Gundagai where you’ll find the Dog on the Tuckerbox – one of Australia’s best-known monuments.

For an adrenalin rush, take to the skies with a tandem skydive at Temora. The town is also home to the Temora Aviation Museum; its collection of historic aircraft is one of Australia’s finests.
