Coastal areas provide extensive networks of bike and walking tracks which in most cases follow the foreshores hence offering views over Moreton Bay and Pumicestone Passage.
Picnic areas are plentiful throughout the whole region providing families with great opportunities for some quality time together.

Tribute is paid to the region’s first settlement status and the gallant persistence of early explorers. The region is steeped with history and our heritage has been carefully preserved and celebrated in working historical villages where you can immerse yourself in culture and learn of our humble beginnings.
Council operated museums offer interesting insight into our history, other places with significant displays such as priceless antiquities and fine art from around the world, fully restored WWII aircraft, steam trains and a rum distillery are also available for public viewing.
Food & Wine
Rural areas of the Moreton Bay Region boast a myriad of wineries which produce a variety of table wines made specifically to enhance the flavours of locally grown produce. With restaurants using more local beef, bay seafood, delectable strawberries and other sub-tropical fruits in their menus – you’re bound to have a dining experience (or two) to remember. Ocean View Winery & Restaurant grow and process their own grapes on the property which can be sampled at the cellar door or in the stylish restaurant.Boutique eateries such as Storeybrook Cottage with its home cooking and a wonderful herb garden to access are an example of the growing selection of food available. Notable beach side restaurants on Redcliffe Peninsula such as Morgans Seafood and Sails Restaurant & Function Centre are drawing dedicated foodies from the city.
The Moreton Bay Region has a number of major shopping centres anchored by national retailers as well as a selection of specialist stores to choose from. Beyond this, there’s the thrill of the local markets. There’s no better place to find a bargain or discover something unusual.
From the coast to the hinterland, each locality supports a market at least once a month – some operate each weekend! Each market varies what it is they offer or specialize in which means visitors and residents alike have access to a wide variety of goods and services.
