The Australian STAR Rating Scheme has ten accommodation Categories:
- Apartment Hotel
- Backpackers
- Bed & Breakfast
- Guesthouse
- Hotel
- Motel
- Houseboat
- Resort
- Self Catering
- Tourist/Caravan Park
We recognise that places to stay come in all shapes, sizes and types; therefore it is important that STAR Ratings compare ‘apples with apples’. As such each Category is assessed against its own set of Standards. As you would expect, a 5 STAR Houseboat is the best of its Category, but offers a very different experience to a 5 STAR Hotel.
